The Role

As the Senior Online Trading Manager, you will play a crucial role in driving online sales performance and supporting the brand’s ambitious digital growth strategy. Working closely with teams in Marketing, Merchandising, and Digital Product, you’ll oversee day-to-day online trading activities, implementing strategies to maximise conversion rates, optimize the customer journey, and expand the brand’s digital reach. This role is ideal for a strategic thinker who’s ready to dive into the details, lead a team, and collaborate with senior stakeholders to achieve outstanding results.

Key Responsibilities:

Trading Strategy: Develop and execute an online trading strategy that aligns with the brand’s digital growth objectives and revenue goals.

Performance Monitoring: Track and analyse daily, weekly, and monthly sales performance, creating actionable insights to address gaps and capitalise on growth opportunities.

Conversion Optimisation: Work closely with UX and Digital Product teams to enhance the customer journey, leveraging A/B testing and data analysis to improve conversion rates and customer satisfaction.

Cross-Functional Collaboration: Coordinate with Marketing and Merchandising teams to plan and execute campaigns, product launches, and promotions seamlessly across digital channels.

Customer Insights: Conduct in-depth analysis of customer behaviour and engagement, using insights to refine and adapt trading strategies.

Team Leadership: Lead and mentor the online trading team, setting objectives, supporting professional development, and fostering a collaborative, high-performance environment.

Forecasting and Planning: Oversee e-commerce forecasting and budgeting, ensuring alignment with financial goals and maximizing profitability.

Stakeholder Engagement: Present regular performance updates, trading insights, and strategic recommendations to senior management, supporting the brand’s e-commerce vision.

The Person

We’re looking for an analytical and commercially driven e-commerce professional who is passionate about online trading and understands the fast-paced nature of high-street retail. The ideal candidate has a track record of delivering digital growth and excels in identifying data-driven opportunities. As a natural leader and collaborator, you will manage teams effectively and build cross-functional relationships to achieve ambitious targets.

Qualifications & Experience:

Experience: Minimum of 5 years in an e-commerce or online trading role, ideally within a high-street retail or consumer brand.

Analytical Skills: Advanced proficiency in analytics tools (e.g., Google Analytics, Contentsquare) and a proven ability to make data-driven decisions.

Commercial Acumen: In-depth understanding of e-commerce commercial levers, with a successful record of driving online revenue.

Project Management: Strong experience in end-to-end project management, from strategy to execution and optimisation.

Leadership: Proven ability to lead a team, inspire collaboration, and drive results.

Technical Proficiency: Knowledge of CMS, e-commerce platforms, and digital merchandising tools.

Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, capable of engaging and influencing stakeholders at all levels.
