The Role
As an Online Trading Specialist, you’ll play a pivotal role in driving sales and delivering high-impact campaigns. Reporting to the Trading Manager, you’ll be responsible for executing daily trading activities across the website(s), ensuring that all campaigns, promotions, and brand strategies are executed seamlessly. This role is designed for someone who thrives on data-driven decisions and is motivated by achieving results.
In this role, you’ll have the opportunity to become an expert in trading systems and tools, working with a multidisciplinary team to continuously improve online performance. From optimising conversion rates to analysing seasonal sales patterns, you’ll take full ownership of trading performance, collaborating with marketing and commercial teams to achieve ambitious goals.
Key Responsibilities
Manage the day-to-day trading of the website(s), ensuring alignment with broader commercial goals.
Provide detailed analysis and reporting of daily, weekly, and monthly trade performance, identifying key business drivers and feeding insights into action plans to meet sales and contribution targets.
Analyse seasonal sales patterns, market trends, and competitor performance to maintain a competitive edge.
Oversee weekly updates for site content, including campaigns, promotions, and brand partner information.
Take ownership of the critical path for campaign and promotional activity, ensuring all timelines and requirements are met.
Work closely with digital marketing and optimisation teams to communicate product and trading strategies effectively, driving seamless execution across the teams.
Support the coordination of evergreen and seasonal content to boost SEO, customer engagement, and conversion rates.
Manage the process of improving product content, ensuring any issues are quickly addressed to optimise sales.
Play a key role in setting goals and objectives for Trading Assistant(s), ensuring alignment with overall team and brand goals.
Actively contribute to the e-commerce strategy, collaborating with key internal and external stakeholders to ensure KPIs are understood and met.
Represent the Online Trading Team across the wider business, ensuring clear communication and alignment of goals.
The Person
The ideal candidate will have:
At least 2 years of experience in a similar e-commerce or digital trading role, preferably within retail or consumer brands.
Strong analytical skills with a keen eye for detail and the ability to generate actionable insights from data.
Expertise in Google Analytics, Contentsquare, and Excel to track performance and optimise trading strategies.
Experience with e-commerce platforms and an understanding of online retail performance metrics.
Self-motivation and the ability to work independently while being a proactive contributor to team goals.
Strong communication skills, able to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and external partners.
