The role
Reporting directly to the Ecommerce Buying Manager, this is a key role within the digital structure with specific accountability for delivering the DSV (Drop Ship Vendor) range proposition and commercial performance cross-category. Lead the delivery of the product ambition and performance of DSV ranging in line with their category management strategy. The job role includes working with the Ecommerce Buying Manager to understand the needs and range gaps, sourcing and negotiating with the appropriate supply base and seeing this from initial conversations with suppliers to live on their website.
Key Responsibilities
Responsibility for delivering on financial targets of DSV Sales, Margin, Returns.
Accountable for delivering DSV product range in line with category strategy and identification of key growth opportunities.
Responsible for supplier relationships within new DSV product ranges and maintaining availability of ranges for our customers.
Responsible for negotiating supplier terms with any new suppliers.
Formulating additional opportunity plans where necessary to ensure full delivery vs plan.
Working with the relevant CMT’s to align and deliver the DSV range for the category, as determined with the Ecommerce Buying Manager.
Engage with wider departments – working in close collaboration with Buying, Digital & Merchandising to land the product ambition.
Work according to the business processes to on-board new suppliers and products to the website.
Identify the underlying principles, reasons for performance within your product range and take remedial actions where necessary for optimum range performance, working in collaboration and influencing others where necessary.
Consistently demonstrate and communicate a thorough knowledge of your category.
Responsible for negotiating cost prices across your supplier base to ensure we are able to be competitive against the market and maintain agreed margin requirements on DSV.
Identifying opportunities with all suppliers for funding opportunities and ongoing plans to support yearly targets set for ADREV Income.
The Person
The post holder must have experience in either multi category product buying or drop-ship buying, be passionate about product, capable of challenging, influencing and effectively managing relationships both internal & external to the organization.
